Catalog- Big Foot Radius/Angle/Circle Tool
This tool was a brain storm of mine after I attended one of "Micks' class at one of the Pavement Expos. He had made a chain into a triangle ("CHAIN GANG") that one of his crews could layout a radius or curved parking area. Well did that work slick. The only problem I saw was that he had 3 people.... Not HIS problem, but with my customers, that are probably 75 % Mom & Pop/sole proprietors/one person opperations, this is a problem. So how do you do arcs by you self? Well... you hook up he Radius Chain and start making arcs. I laid out lots of radius/curved parking lots, by myself and if you have a second person you can attatch the chain to two sticks/handles, It takes no time. Micks crew also had to go back and find the lenght of the line that was going to be painted and make another mark and snap the line. With the Radius-Chain you establish the lenght of the painted line when you find the first arc. Then all the lines will be the lenght your gong to paint. That saves time right there. If you do this by yourself and the Big Foot you can snap the lines as you go. More time saved. You might say "I do math to find all my marks". "Well and good". If The Radius you are working on is a perfect circle radius. Doesn't work to good on a randum curve either. The Big Foot and Radius Chain way, you build each line on it's own radius. Makes a perfect 90 degree every time on each line. It might take a little longer but there all perfect, no matter where the radius or the curve goes.
Good New Too !! Mick came up
with a way to use His Triangle, 3-people, and layout 60 degree parking on a radius. If you go to a Pavement Expo, take Mick's class "On how to do the tough jobs" This will impress you ! More Good News! I came home and figured out how to do these 60 degree Radius jobs with the Big Foot by yourself. More information about this tool and the way to make it pay for itself the first time you use it, is included. Lots of pictures too! (BIG FOOT not include). It comes with it's own bag with handles, to carry it on the Big Foot. 25 ft. of #6 Chain. All the fittings, for attaching it to The Big Foot and to build whatever you will need for layouts. Some colored zip ties come with it, to mark certain links so that you don't have to measure the same lengths over and over. The chalk holder attatches to the links very easily. And a 1/2 dowel will fit the open end of the chalk holder (new poles-read on), "NO BENDING OVER" to make your markings. "It's so easy, a cave man can do it"
I use this tool to layout island radius on dbl. row islands.(see picture in news section).. Directions with pictures/drawings come Working with the Radius Tool !!!
JULY 27, 2010............(check out the Radius-Poles in the NEWS section!!) AS YOU CAN TELL, I'M HOLDING ON TO A POLE TO MAKE MY ARCS. I've come up with some poles that telescope. One has a chalk holder fastened to it and the other has a snap, for holding the chain. This is for the two man layout. One with the chalk and the other holding the chain. In using these poles, the chain and poles were always somewhere else when we needed them and had to take time to retrive them. Not any more, I've attatched a tube to the Big Foot to hold these poles. There always handy. Good News For The Chalk Line Holder..... The pole with the snap, can be used to hold the chalk string. NO BENDING OVER TO HOLD THE STING !!!
PRICE:........$50.00..(??)....4 LBS.
(you'll pay for it 1/2 way through your first job.)
GOOD NEWS: VISA--MASTERCARD--and NOW "DISCOVER"
